Vivid Color Care

Shampooing & Styling

  • Wait 48 hours to wash or get wet.

  • Shampoo as little as possible and use dry shampoo. The longer between washes, the longer your color will last.

  • Use salon quality sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner with cool/cold water only.

  • Shampoo the scalp and condition the ends.

  • Use as little heat as possible. Turn down the temperature and use a heat protectant.

Staining

  • Your hair will stain fabrics when wet.

  • Avoid white or light-colored towels, bedding, cloth hair accessories, clothing (with deeper colors), etc.

  • Color may stain skin on hands and face. Most colors will come off with soap, water, and a little bit of rubbing.

  • We are not responsible for any staining on clothing, towels, bedding, etc.

Fading & Making
your Color Last

  • All vivid colors WILL fade over time.

  • Deeper/intense colors will last longer than pale/pastel colors that may come completely out by 4 shampoos.

  • Hard water may lead to faster fading.

  • Use a leave-in conditioner (with UV protection) to protect your color from the sun, chlorine, and saltwater.

  • Use a colored shampoo or mask to refresh color at-home.

Removing or Changing your Color

  • It is highly advised that you see a professional for this service.

  • Do NOT attempt to bleach out vivid colors. These colors do not penetrate the hair cuticle. They simply sit on top, like a stain. Putting bleach on can drive the color deeper into the hair and make removal difficult.

  • Start shampooing with warm/hot water as soon as possible before your appointment to jump start the removal process.
